Introduction

Let me start out introducing myself... I'm a 32 year old married female living in the midwest, in the same metro area I grew up in. I've been married to my husband "S" for 5 years, and while we have our issues, he is a good man. We have two adorable cats, "the old one" and "the brat". We own our own home in a cookie cutter neighborhood where the houses all look alike, so much so that I have been known to drive past our house without realizing it. We are both college graduates and work full time, me in the legal field, him in management.
Sounds pretty normal and dull doesn't it? It is. Or it was until we decided, OK I decided, that we wanted to have a baby about three years ago. After trying for about 6 months, we had some tests done and found out that my husband can't have children. He's sterile. Lucky us, he has a rare condition that only 3-5% of the population have and it is untreatable. Our only chance for natural children will be through the use of a sperm donor.
And that's where the title of this blog comes from, because we are certiainly not doing it the normal way. I plan to have this be a chronical of all the ups and downs of going through this incredible saga of using a sperm donor to creat our family.
